C.J. Haygood 1927-2008

HARRISONBURG, La. - Services for the Rev. C.J. “Buck” Haygood, 80, of Harrisonburg, who died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harrisonburg First United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. David Bailey Sr. and James Mason officaiting.
Burial will follow at Old Catahoula Cemetery, in Enterprise, La., under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia, La.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
Rev. Haygood was born Dec. 20, 1927, in Catahoula Parish, the son of John Wesley and Julia Boothe Haygood. He was a retired employee of Armstrong Rubber Company with 38 years of service. He served as pastor in the north Louisiana area for 14 years. In the Columbia area, he pastored Burroughs United Pentecostal Church.
Rev. Haygood held a nursing home ministry for 40 years. He was a Bible scholar. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Cecile Anderson, Loraine Vallas and Ruth Evans.
He was a faithful and devoted husband to his wife of 57 years, Jimmie Ruth Hooter Haygood; a loving father to his two daughters, Candace Mosher and husband, Mark, both of Ragley, La., and Tami Blocker and husband, Charlie, both of Lake Charles, La.
Other survivors include four beloved grandchildren, Jada Cannon and husband, Kris, Jon Garrett Vincent and wife, Britney, Lauren Mosher and Stormie Vincent; three great-grandchildren, Weston Crochet, Lily Cannon and Adalee Vincent; two brothers, Larry Haygood of Jonesboro, La., and Wayne Haygood of Crossett, Ark.; and three sisters, Faye Prince of Swartz, La., Juanita Duke of Vicksburg and Joy Sivils, of Fairfield Bay, Ark.
Pallbearers will be Charles Blocker, Mark Mosher, Jon Garrett Vincent, Kris Cannon, James Mason, and Doug Anderson.
Junior pallbearer will be Weston Crochet.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Mason and Bo Aarons.

Feb. 23, 1935 - Oct. 26, 1999

JONESVILLE, La. - Services for Hubert Hooter, 64, of Pineville, who died Oct. 26, 1999, in Jonesville, will be at 2 p.m. today at Mayna Church of God, with the Revs. Lloyd Trisler and Marion Trisler Jr. officiating.

Burial will be at the Heard Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Mr. Hooter was born Feb. 23, 1935, in Book.

He was a member of Mayna Church of God and a long time resident of Pinecrest Development Center in Pineville. He was also a maintenance helper.

Mr. Hooter was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Nancy Book Hooter; one sister, Velma Forman and one foster brother, Nasif Book.

Survivors include one sister, Peggy Hooter Trisler of Jonesville; four nieces and three nephews.

Pallbearers are Chris Forman, Bryan Forman, Marshall Lloyd Trisler, David Trisler, Matt Taylor and Larry Owen Crouch.
